Each wooden base is distinguished by the mark of the burnt tip from the heat of the glass. These contemplative and functional vases need their base to stand, as alone they are unstable . As we discovered the technique of Pyrex glass, the transformation of the material in the heat inspired me. By first blowing then rapidly inhaling while pressing the glass against the wood, we were able to work curving the glass inside the sphere. The many possibilities of utilization of this ancient technique are limitless and exciting.
